How it works

One sheet, two passes.

Sticky notes are too small to go through a printer on their own. So stick them onto a sheet of paper and let the paper carry them through.

    Print a positioning sheet

    Pick the size of the notes you have and print the outlines on plain paper. Each box is where one sticky note goes.

  2. 02Stick

    Stick the notes in the boxes

    Line them up with the corners and press the edges flat, sticky strip at the top. Mix colors if you like.

    Put it back, print the content

    Load the same sheet exactly the way you loaded the blank one. Your content lands on the notes — peel them off and use them.

Templates

You decide what goes on each note.

Every note on a sheet can be different. These are drawn live by the editor — this is exactly what prints.

Teachers' favorite: Batch add — paste your class list, wrap each name in a message (“Great job, {name}!”) and get one note per student. Long ones shrink to fit. Also: weekly plans, lined and dot-grid paper, and public-domain poems.

Questions people ask

Will sticky notes jam my printer?

It's the most common worry, and a few habits make a big difference: stick each note on straight with the sticky strip at the top (the edge that goes in first), press the edges flat, feed one sheet at a time — through the manual or rear slot if your printer has one — and use regular or Super Sticky notes rather than pop-up pads. Test on plain paper first. Be careful with laser printers and school copiers: the heat can loosen the glue.

Which printers work?

Most inkjet printers do, especially ones with a rear or manual feed slot. Check your printer's manual before using a laser printer, and try plain paper first.

The second pass is off. What now?

First make sure you print at 100% (Actual size) with “Fit to page” turned off. If it's always off in the same direction, use Calibrate in the editor: print a scale, put the same sheet back and print the pointers, then type in the two readings. Content is shifted back automatically from then on.

Letter or A4?

Both. StickyPrint picks Letter in the US and Canada and A4 elsewhere, and you can switch any time. Templates made for Letter usually get shrunk to about 97% when printed on A4, so the boxes no longer match your notes — here the page is laid out on the real paper size, in millimetres.

Can I save a PDF and print somewhere else?

Yes. When the print dialog opens, choose “Save as PDF” as the destination. Save one for the positioning sheet and one for the content.

How many notes fit on a page?

It depends on the size: six 3 × 3 in notes fit on a Letter or A4 sheet. Extra notes go onto more pages automatically, and positioning sheets and content pages match page by page.

Do I need Post-it® brand notes?

No, any sticky notes work. Measure yours and pick the matching size, or type in a custom one. (US “1.5 × 2” pads actually measure 1⅜ × 1⅞ in — that size is in the list.)

Where is my work saved?

Only in the browser you're using — nothing goes to a server, so student names stay with you. Before switching computers or clearing browser data, use “Export project file” in the editor's ⋯ menu.
